Staff Management
Day-to-day management of household and estate staff on retained contracts: rotas, supervision, training, HR administration and reviews.
What this covers
Employing private staff brings responsibilities: contracts, rotas, holidays, training, performance and, occasionally, difficult conversations. Staff management lets a family keep the service while handing the administration to people who understand private households.
We can manage rotas and cover, coordinate training, handle HR administration alongside your advisers, run regular check-ins and reviews, and arrange replacement staff when someone leaves or is absent. Where staff are employed directly by the family, we work within that employment relationship.
Our recruitment and management services are linked, so the standards used to select staff are the same standards they are supported and reviewed against.
Who it suits
Households and estates with several staff, families who are often away, and family offices that want consistent employment practice across properties.
Scope
One-off
A review of staffing structure, contracts, rotas and job descriptions, with recommendations.
Retained
Support with recruitment, cover and staff matters as they arise, on agreed terms.
Ongoing managed
Managed supervision of the household team, with rotas, reviews, training and regular reporting to the employer.

How we run it
We review the current team, contracts, job descriptions, rotas and any issues the family wants resolved. We agree a staffing structure, rota pattern, review schedule and the boundaries of our role with the employer.
We take on rotas, cover and HR administration, and introduce ourselves to the team as their point of contact. We hold regular check-ins with staff, address problems early and arrange training or replacement where needed. The employer receives regular reports on staffing, absence, performance and any decisions required.
